Getting started

Before getting started, review the pathways available, their costs and timelines outlined on this site. Pathways are described in order of formality with the least formal first.

Peer pathways are separated into their own section.

Peer Pathways

The peer pathways provide a number of opportunities for peers to provide support or input into resolution. Peers are industry volunteers willing to share their experience.

  • Peers provide a view on an issue or dispute
  • Peer mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing on a specific issue, skill or task
  • Unilateral pathway available as an option when only one music creator (or not all participants to a dispute) wants to try to resolve the dispute, where specific conditions are met

Mediation

Optional Pathway

  • Informal and flexible facilitated conversation
  • Mediator does not provide a view
  • Outcome decided by the participants

Variable: From $150 per hour per party (around $2,400 per day)
Note: The nature of these matters means that there are a broad range of mediators’ skill sets available, enabling a more accessible price point.

Timeline: Up to 6 weeks.

Mapping

  • Informal and flexible facilitated conversation
  • Mediator also has industry experience and may provide non-binding views or suggestions
  • Outcome decided by the participants

Variable: From $150 per hour per party (around $2,400 per day)
Timeline: Up to 6 weeks.

Expert Opinion (Non-Binding)

  • Access a subject-matter expert
  • Expert(s) provides an opinion
  • Expert’s opinion is non-binding

Variable: From $2,000 per day (this will depend on the number of days, number of experts and the field of their expertise)

Note: The nature of these matters means that there are a broad range of mediators’ skill sets available, enabling a more accessible price point.

Timeline: Up to 4 months.

Expert Decision (Binding)
